Zhelezobeton is a label and distributor of all sorts of experimental, noise, industrial and other not so conventional music. We release in small editions the music of our friends and distribute the releases of other labels which are more or less spiritually close to us. We have two sub-labels: Zhelezobeton Film for releasing video materials and Muzyka Voln for releasing music in more definite ambient/drone direction.

The Bureau Of Nonstandards - The Bureau Of Nonstandards
The Bureau of Nonstandards decided to present the performances without any further processing and even though this decision brings a nice charm to the the album it might scare off a lot of listeners who are used to more polished productions. Those who take the album for what it is will certainly enjoy the sound adventures and realize that the Bureau of Nonstandards's approach to music is quite nonstandard indeed.

Wentworth Kersey - O
The first in a planned trilogy of EPs, "O" and its successor, "(O)" (2009), are replete with much of the same: mournful, shimmering modulations, acoustic guitar and plaintive voice, all bundled together with lo-fi simplicity and a healthy measure of the open range to boot.

Zilverhill - Latent-Active-Descent
This is only a limited release, which is a real shame, as it deserves a wide audience. The arrangements breathe and the elements shimmer in a way that shows that real craftsmanship and attention to detail have gone into what is one of the most satisfying albums of the year. There is nothing revolutionary or dramatically innovative about any of the elements here, yet they cohere into something that often feels fresh and instantly memorable, leaving lasting traces and compelling and rewarding repeat listening.

Geneviéve Pasquier - Le Cabaret Moi
Though it has its failings and in some aspects it may not sound particularly fresh, "Le Cabaret Moi" is nevertheless a relatively solid offering by Geneviéve Pasquier which could have benefited greatly from a couple of different production and aesthetic choices. Not an album to listen regularly but certainly one to go back to on occasion and rediscover the odd forgotten track.

In a nutshell, the "Kod.eX Compilation" is an amazing compilation that successfully manages to integrate a variety of seemingly unrelated styles into a coherent whole with nearly flawless flow, testimony of the talent and skill of those involved in the Kod.eX nights, from the organizers to the artists who performed there. Definitely a must for anyone interested in good music.
